Hello and welcome to my Home Gym Builder website. I’ve attempted to include everything necessary to build your perfect home gym, from universal machines, free weights, kettle bells, jump ropes, boxing equipment, various floor mats, battle ropes, storage, resistance bands, steppers, to balance balls and anything else needed for your perfect home gym.
MY YOUNG FITNESS LIFE
As a young man growing up in Queens, NY their weren’t many (or should I say zero) places to hang out and participate in various athletic activities. Don’t get me wrong, we played plenty of games like stick ball in the street, 2-hand-touch (or tackle) football where the touch downs were from telephone pole to telephone pole, skelly, freeze tag, running bases, monkey in the middle, dodge ball (where you could almost get killed by getting hit with the ball), karate fights (usually right after the kung fu movies finished on Saturday afternoon), or any other games we’d make up living in the city.
Growing up, I was one of those few kids who had a gym in his basement. Now when I say gym, I mean the 110lb sand weight set from May’s Department Store, and a weight bench made up of two 2-by-4’s with indentions in the middle top (as the barbell rest) nailed to a flat bench, for us to lay on. Believe me when I tell you, it wasn’t sturdy at all but it worked.
THE ADULT RUN-AND-GUN
When I left the U.S. Army after 11 years with a honorable discharge, continuing the fitness lifestyle was the next natural step so got a job working in a fitness gym, first as a membership sales manager, then as a personal trainer, and that’s where my passion flourished.
I became an entrepreneur and started training clients in their homes but most had gyms in their buildings. Training clients in their home is when I noticed what was missing.
Most of my clients and friends have very busy lives and some (for more reasons than a few) either don’t like going to fitness gyms or just don’t have the time in their schedule to get their on a consistent basis.
A lot of us (self included) have families, and if anyone runs around like I do (as a chauffeur) for our kids on the weekends for soccer, ballet, lacrosse, football, cheerleading, or theatre practice (just to name a few), wasting money on a gym membership that you never use just doesn’t make any sense.
So what I decided was, if it’s futile to waste money on a gym membership that I’m rarely going to use, but I do want to stay fit and healthy, the next best thing is to bring the gym to me; create a space that has pretty much everything I need.
I could balance my time with my family, make time for myself, and you know what, my gym is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year AND I never have to get in my car to get their. My wife uses it. My kids see us use it which naturally, positively influences them. It’s a win win.
So my purpose is to make it a little easier for everyone interested in a fitness lifestyle, get what they need to do what they want.
If you need any assistance or have any questions, feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to help you out.
All the best,
